This high-end Suki Nagamatsu design is hand-ground from a small bar of Japanese carbon steel, making it imporatantly sharp. The unique gouge profile includes a large bowl with a large rim radius to produce beautiful incised patterns with minimal effort. The shaver is also very special. Unlike most gouges, it has a pronounced knurl on the backside to hold the wood fibers safely, without snapping. This provides a tremendous amount of control, making it the pro's gouge of choice. You will love the way this shaves wood, too! Designed by Sushi Sushirou Goshitani, he is an avid wood turner who has mastered the art of woodcarving.
