Product Info for Hornady Crimp Starters
It is very important to get the right type of crimp. The Hornady Continuous Crimp Starter is designed to work with a Hornady crimp die that has been set to the correct crimp angle. The tool should be set to the correct crimp angle when the tool is cold. Otherwise the crimp die will think the case mouth too thin causing the crimp to break. The Hornady Press Safety Crimp Starter should be set to the correct crimp angle when the tool is cold. Once the crimp has been broken the tool can be removed and the crimp starter can be used to set the crimp once and it can be tossed into the recycling bin.
