The Iver Johnson Improved Modified Mobil Choke Tube is a proven choke tube used with Iver Johnson shotguns. The purpose of a choke tube is to throw as much clay away from the shooting surface as possible at the target by throwing as much pellets as possible into the muzzle. A point of impact on the target therefore increases the pellet count and energy of the shot considerably. Also improves the accuracy of the shot. Iver Johnson 12 Gauge Improved Choke Tube provides less recoil and more down range rounds. Iver Johnson Improving the performance of their chokes isn't simply a matter of making them longer or shorter. It's a matter of making them more correctly sized for the given load. This is accomplished by putting the chokes in a straight "Improved" configuration. The point contact surface should be as perpendicular to the axis of the barrel. This ensures concentricity. Iver Johnson Improved Choke Tubes have always been and will continue to be the standard chokes offered on most Iver Johnson shotguns. We never have and will continue to offer a standard choke tube with a longer choke length unless specifically requested by the customer.
