The tool that comes with this set does make installing the take-down & pivot pin easier as it help retain and keep the spring back while sliding the pins in. The plus side- you can keep the guide rod tool for your next install.

I was just looking for the cheapest pair of takedown pins with dimpled ends, and these are great! The nitride finish looks good, the assembly pin is helpful, and they're half the price of similar aftermarket options.

The Kaw Valley Precision Takedown/Pivot Pin Kit comes complete with everything needed for a smooth and simple upgrade. The pins are machined from US Carbon Steel and Black Nitride QPQ finished. The KVP Takedown/Pivot Pin Kit includes a universal Pivot Pin assembly tool that helps minimize installation frustration. If you use pin dis-assembly tools, the KVP pins are dimpled on each end to help positively locate punches, bullet tips, or the assembly tool provided. This minimizes the potential for tool slipage that could cause damage to ytheir lower receiver.image
