The High Flyer choke reduces recoil and at the same time, produces tight patterns. The layered concentric baffles increases the FPS (Feet Per Second) in relation to the diameter of the shot being fired. This choke will promote faster barrel speeds and also produce denser patterns than cylinder choke tubes. We went with a Mod Cylinder for this choke. The added concentricity increases the FPS with a longer parallel section towards the muzzle (thus leading to denser patterns). Also, be aware that even though this is a Mod Cylind, the FPS produced is still much higher than a Full Cylinder. We have seen a reduction in FPS with these modified choke tubes compared to our Full Cylinder. This can be attributed to the fact that when firing super-heated ammo, the vapor back pressure tends to knock the velocity right off of the target. Our High Flyer chokes use a layered cone section towards the end of the choke, which directs the gasses out towards the rear of the bore, preventing stray light from reflecting off of the shooter's body. Additionally, the longer F.L. has a more drastic effect on the velocity of the shot than a traditional choke due to the constriction of the choke being parallel to the bore. This causes the shot to be thrown off target more readily. Because of the two opposing jets of ammo, we have a tendency to lose some on the choke during fire. This is normal and should be expected when shooting super-heated ammo.
