The neck is made of a polyethylene plastic that can withstand boiling water for a prolonged period of time. The bottle is free flow designed, with rounded bottom to prevent clogging with powder or granular debris. The neck is expertly fluted for a comfortable grip and excellent pouring characteristics. The polyethylene terephthalate (PET) closure provides an airtight seal that will not leak or corrode. The extra heavy wall reduces stress, increasing durability. The large polyethylene plug on the neck allows many types of chemicals to be introduced into the bottle with minimal pressure loss. A polyethylene plug on the neck may also be used to reduce the pressure required for distillation procedures. For organic solvents, use thinners or a suitable surfactant.
