This round-bottom flask is a cost-effective means of isolating and transferring solvents. It is useful for weighing precipitates or other solvents or organic solvents, for aeration of water baths, mixing of solvents, extractions, or leaching operations. The extended, funnel-shaped neck allows the flask to be removed from the sink, without breakage, by turning the shoulder (handle) to attain the lower side of the flask where the shoulder provides a funnel-like shape to the outside. The extra-long neck strengthens the flask against breakage. It is also corrosion-resistant, and the wide-mouth design provides a smooth, outwardly-thumbnail mouth that is easier to clean. Each flask is supplied with a ground glass stopper. A carrying handle is provided with each flask. Caution: For strong organic solvents (e.g., ethers), the flasks are autoclavable.
