Designed for the isolation of ophthalmic fluids from blood and other biological fluids. Supplied with a stainless steel screw cap with an anodized finish, this jar is ideal for collection tubes and vials. The spring steel bail with a turned lip prevents breakage and leakage. The screw cap also has a raised rim to allow visual inspection of the inside of the jar without removing it. The shape of the jar offers a unique space-saving asymmetrical design, ideal for storing and removing specimens with large diameters. It serves as a spacer to insulate the bulb of a safety jar or prevent it from rolling to the bottom of a sample container. It keeps sample residues to a minimum and allows vigorous rinsing to remove contamination. Ordering Information: All jars have an anodized stem in place of the usual clay cover. The hinged top opens to reveal a sighting hole and a removable rubber gasket to hold the funnel in place. The funnel is not included with the jar. A separate custom ground cotton plug attached to the screw cap completes the seal and forms an integral part of the gasket.
