Donor resin is chemically inert and inert from hexane and other gases produced in distillation. Unlike most other Chromatography columns, this column contains no free alumina and delivers an exceptionally smooth Chromatographic peak profile. Chromatography is accomplished by the uniform backbushing of a shim until the desired retention time is obtained. It then separates and binds the sample, much as a paper does. The opening of the packed columns is calibrated in minutes. The removal of the packing forms a vacuum cavity, easily accomplished by clamping the column onto a luer slip. The packing material is different from one batch of packed Chromatographic columns to another, as different batches have different retention times. Packing material for some types of columns is also supplied.
