Pipet tips are made of a high purity, spherical borosilicate glass. Flexible tips may be used for oral, rectal, or recto-rectal sampling. Nonsterile pipet tips are made of a frost-resistant, high-grade borosilicate glass that will not cloud or break. Flexible pipet tips are ideal for sampling or transferring into constrictions greater than 10 mL. The instrument can be used to draw and deliver liquids from vials, or drop into test tubes or cylinders using the tip extension. Large numerals on the bulb of the pipet tips identify the type of tip, and the color of the tip extension denotes the volume of liquid in the pipet. The color coding on the tip and base clearly identify the type of tip being used. The color coding on the bulb and the hemispherical tube stem give an accurate idea of the volume in the pipet. The bright-red color of the tip and syringe are easily spotted at the lab. The low-visibility orange base and yellow stem give an idea of the approximate volume in the pipet. The bulb is easily removed for lab use.
