how much taller than standard is this sight?

.040" taller than standard front sight. Works great if you have a non "F" marked FSB (Bushmaster, DPMS, WW) and you mount a mil spec height rear sight.

Works for using a non F marked front sight base. I put it in a JP rifles a2 height adjustable gas block front sight. Seems to zero as it should.uses standard 4 notch adjusters, fit with a milspec detent pin.
