Capture systems combine the speed of a fast flow generator with the centrifugal force of a developing gas to form a sealed envelope around the sample. The vacuum in the envelope prevents any liquids or powders from evaporating and develops during the pumping stage. The working fluid is circulated throughout the entire space within the generator. The reaction medium does not evaporate or dissipate during pumping. As a result, violent reactions with liquids or powders may be reduced or completely prevented. Capture systems separate liquid flows and total gas concentrations to form a safe, effective and economical fuming system. The capture system includes the basic laboratory components necessary for operation as well as the easily removable safety cover. A small, easily stored cartridge with a molded retaining ring is included. Additional equipment required.
