The Labconco SureClean Pre-Filter Combination consists of four pre-filters connected in series to achieve a predetermined combined filtration and pre-filtration step in the preparation of a sample for quantitative analysis. The Labconco SureClean Pre-Filter Combination eliminates cross contamination between the sample tube and the instrument. Place the pre-filters across the inlet of the concentrator and the outflow tube of the filter cartridge in series to create an initial mixed flow, then apply a specific pressure step, then allow the sample to pass through the pre-filters in the cartridge, one at a time, until the pre-filter becomes saturated and the sample passes through. After the pre-filtration step, the sample tube can be re-filtered from the bottom of the cup, keeping the remaining mix in solution. The micro-fiber pre-filters are especially useful in removing particulates and other small particles that might otherwise contaminate the sample.
