A five-stage filtration system that converts room air into a stream of charged particles. The system utilizes an outer oxidation layer formed by reacting corrosives from hydrogen fluoride, chlorine, bromine, and potassium permanganate. The inner surface of the inner surface is coated with an inert alumina ball bearing to form a liquid tight barrier that removes the charged particles. The catalyst charged with a charged alumina ball bearing prevents premature build-up of agar plates, reduces corrosion, and simplifies cleaning. An automatic self diagnosis light on the control panel provides an outlet current and the HEPA filter needs to be replaced only when the carbon filter needs cleaning. Swivel hinges allow inner filter to be removed for cleaning when necessary. Redesigned with an enlarged drain pan to increase usable volume. HEPA-Carbon technology converts room air into a pool of reduced charged vapor from concentrated organic pollutants. The resulting vapor can be safely recirculated to remove air without compromising the purity of the gas stream. Recirculated air is then filtered and atomized to remove all trace elements of organic origin. Re-circulated air is then passed through a carbon scrubber column for particle adsorption. An alarm alerts the operator to the need for vacuum or back pressure changes. The system can be easily bypassed for maintenance by simply opening the front cover and closing the door. Unused space below the hood for intake of other materials is provided to allow an air sample inlet without vacuum.
