These conical-bottom flasks are supplied with a white neck finish, which prevents breakage and chipping. The shape of the neck is such that acids, alkalis and bases do not etch or damage the glass surface, providing a cost-effective method of producing a consistent conical-bottom vessel. The 24/40 contains a STEAR-JUT filter attachment site. Both the inner diameter and length of the neck are made from borosilicate glass. The outer diameter includes a STEAR-JUT opening, which is large enough to permit easy sampling from the neck with a spatula or agar. Large, easy-to-clean glass flasks are easy to break, even if they are not made from quartz.
