The block, which weighs approximately eight pounds, has molded-in leveling feet and an angular perforated lower base contact area that allows for accurate centrifugation readings. The block also features high-density polyethylene plastic liners to absorb and rapidly dissipate condensation, which helps to minimize evaporation of water from the tubes. The lid of the lid includes an angled inlet and two clamping straps to secure the lid in place, providing a hands-free method for adding gas and vacuum pumping.
