This polyethylene duct has a continuous lip around the circumference of the hood, ensuring the safety of the operators if a fall occurs. There is a gradual decrease in the area of the hood front when the hood is in use. Push-pull operation on the lip of the duct turns the hood completely inside out, preventing the escape of the humidity generated from the experiment. Place the hood in a location away from the entrance hole, seal the duct completely around the outer edge of the hood, and insure that the duct is not higher or lower than the entrance hole. Insert the flexible hose clamps onto the hood, and pass the hose through the hood to the clamp. Insert the hose clamps into the duct until the hose fingers fit snugly around the jug. Push the jug handle down into the duct to withdraw the spout of the duct. Insert the hose clamp handle into the duct until the jug fits naturally into the duct. There is an integrated bend in the duct line at the bottom of the duct, behind the elbow, which serves as a grip. The duct must not be used for applications involving liquids, glassware, or vacuum devices, since the outer surface of the duct is too hot; otherwise, it may melt and chemically react with the plastic.![]()
