How does this handstop LOCK on the picatinny rail? looks like it just slides on

The handstop does slide onto the rail. It is secured using Larue Indexclips that are attached infront and behind the handstop to secure it. It appears the Indexclips are sold separately.

Product Info for LaRue Tactical HandStop 2-Piece Set

We introduced these slide-on HandStops in the Fall of 2008, and have been refining them ever since. We ended up with a simple, robust and economical solution. The one-piece design has no moving parts to break, or seams to rub against. Installed anywhere on the rail, the LT HandStops optimize hand position, providing better support, recoil management and overall control of the rifle. Giving the rail physical obstructions also keep the support-hand intuitively in proper position, and away from dangerous SBR muzzles and hot barrels.

Note: Installation requires locking in-position with at least two IndexClips (one on either side), or other rail covers that lock in place. Some modification to rail covers may be needed, if you do not use IndexClips.
