Lee .451 Double Cavity Round Ball Mold w/Handle - Round ball molds, commonly referred to as Lee's Round Ball Moulds, are double cavity with handles and made of aluminum. As with all Round Ball Moulds, a "blind" sprue plate ensures the roundness of the mold cavities will be consistent, as will be the finished roundness of the cast round ball or pistol bullet. The cavities of this Lee Round Ball Mould are far too close in diameter to reliably cast a truly independent round ball or pistol bullet. Many people call this round ball a Lee lead round ball because it is suited for use with modern day pistols that have a lead core. However, a lead bullet with a diameter this close to a ball can be difficult to cast accurately. This bullet is also far too finely ground to ensure that it will not deform in the hot metals of the gunsmith or lube factory.
