The Lee carbidized Carbides Only Undersize Die offers a small amount of oversizing with a larger amount of undersizing with each stroke of the die. When a smaller amount of oversize is printed on the case mouth, the case can be reseated in the die and pushed through. This provides a small amount of oversizing with each stroke of the die. However, if the case is seated in too deeply, the bullet has a tendency to jump out of the mouth, which can create problems when reloading in some instances. Carbide undersizing dies are a good choice to reduce the oversizing that occurs when resizing too-thick cases. However, care should be taken when resizing too thin cases as too thin cases can distort the bullet and cause shot groups to break or become lost. For proper undersizing you should use a case preparation die or seater and then seat it in the chamber, neck your case and carefully chamfer the case as you normally would as a last step before storing for long term storage.
