Were these pins used in both the A1 and A2 models? I've built replicas of both and want to get them as correct as possible. Manufacturer Answer

The vintage firing pin retainer was only used in the early stages of the AR15/M16 A1 series of rifles and would not be used in an A2 style rifle.
