The NEW MEADE LX90-ACF Telescopes are the latest iteration of high end Meade Telescopes, and these ACF telescopes can do more than track satellites. Turn Meade LX 90 ACF on and the built-in Sony GPS sensor immediately determines your precise date, time and location. Meade AutoAlign then uses this info to align your telescope for a tour of the most spectacular sights in the universe. With all the features from the classic RC design built into the Meade LX90 Advanced Coma-Free, plus the ability to communicate to satellites, the new Meade LX90 ACF now has it all. When it comes to industry-leading American-made optics, depth of features, and value for your dollar, the Meade LX 90 ACF Telescope is the best all-around telescope value you can find. AUTOALIGN - Telescopes with Meade 's new Auto Align come pre-aligned. Meade ACF Telescopes are smart scopes that know the night sky right out of the box. AutoAlign picks two fail-proof alignment stars for you and places them right in your viewfinder. Just center them to fine tune your alignment and the wonders of the universe are at your fingertips.![]()
Meade LX90ACF Computerized Telescopes feature:
ADVANCED COMA-FREE DESIGN - Meade 's ACF optical design produces coma-free pinpoint star images and a flatter field that discerning astrophotographers and most professional observatories expect, and reduces the astigmatism and eliminates diffractions spikes found in classical RCs.
OVERSIZED PRIMARY MIRROR - Only Meade manufactures their primary mirrors in diameters larger than their listed aperture (e.g. the diameter of the Meade 8" LX90 ACF Telescope 's primary mirror is actually 8.25").This additional 1/4" yields a wider, fully illuminated field-of-view, and allows you to see the light other telescopes leave behind.
SLEW SPEEDS - The Meade LX90ACF slews (moves) from star to star at 7 degrees per second. That is more than twice as fast as the competition. This means that over the course of an evening, Meade LX 90 ACF Telescope will show you two to three times more objects.
RIGID CAST ALUMINUM FORK MOUNT - The Meade LX90ACF Optical Tube Assembly is mounted on two sturdy fork arms giving you a rock solid platform for astrophotography.
MEADE LX200 SERIES TRIPOD - The Meade LX90 ACF Telescope comes standard with the same sturdy field tripod as the Meade LX200ACF Telescopes.
SMART DRIVE - Meade AutoStar provides Periodic Error Correction (in polar mode). Over the course of one or more training periods your Meade LX90 ACF will minimize guiding corrections during long exposure astrophotography.
AUTOSTAR CONTROLLER - Meade AutoStar can be updated after purchase. Log on to www.meade.com to download software upgrades, guided tours and timely objects like comets, satellites and new discoveries - Free! Keep your Meade AutoStar up-to-date, and your Meade LX90-ACF Telescope will grow with you for years to come.
MEADE SMARTFINDER (RED DOT) & 8 X 50 VIEWFINDER - Quickly and easily locate and center deep sky objects.
MADE IN THE USA - All Meade LX90ACF Telescopes are made in the USA at Meade's state-of-the-art design and manufacturing facility in Irvine, California.

Understanding Meade LX90ACF Telescopes Apertures:
Telescope aperture is about gathering light. The human eye can only gather as much light as can squeeze through the pupil of your eye. Not much. So the real purpose of a telescope is not magnification - it's gathering more light. The larger the aperture of the telescope, the brighter and higher resolution your image. Due to the natural limitations of the human eye, a long-exposure astrophotograph will be infinitely more detailed and colorful than what you can possibly see through the telescope eyepiece. Depending on the steadiness of the atmosphere, the darkness of your location, and how dark adapted your eyes are, a large telescope will turn distant galaxies, star clusters, nebulas and planets into truly magnificent sights you will never forget. That's why any experienced astronomer and astrophotographer will tell you aperture is everything. As a general rule, an 8-inch telescope has four times the light gathering power of a 4-inch telescope. The main caveat to the "bigger is better" rule is portability. Telescopes above 10" become increasingly more difficult to transport to your favorite dark sky location (not an issue if you plan on a home observatory or roll-off shed). But the best telescope for you is the one you will actually use. Most amateurs consider an 8 inch scope, such as Meade LX90ACF 8" Telescope, the perfect compromise between brightness and portability. With Meade LX90ACF an astrophotograph and a look through a telescope both inspire wonder.
Meade LX90ACF Telescopes high lights:
Meade Oversized Primary Mirror:Captures the light competitive Telescopes leave behind. Meade LX 90 ACF Telescopes feature a primary mirror larger than the aperture of the objective or corrector lens, so virtually no light gets lost on its way to the eyepiece. Enjoy brighter off-axis viewing and astrophotography with more fully illuminated fields of view. | ![]() |
Meade Faster Slew Speeds:At a sleepy three degrees per second, it could take other telescopes a full minute to move from horizon-to-horizon. Meade LX90ACF Computerized Telescope' s slews more than twice as fast as other Telescopes. Go for the speed. And see more objects all night long. | ![]() |
Automatic Telescope Alignment:The fastest and easiest way to align your telescope isn't by finding three bright objects. It's by finding no objects at all. You want easy? Meade LX90ACF Telescopes with AutoAlign are smart telescopes that know the night sky right out of the box. | ![]() |
