Mec-Gar magazines are heat-treated to provide additional strength. The feeding ribs are precisely formed and shaped to guide each round of ammunition without jamming or slow down. Mec-Gar magazines are made from certified Carbon Steel AISI 1010 or 17-7 PH aircraft-grade stainless steel. The are made of high tensile strength spring wire and reinforced coils with stiffening folds. This allows for an increase in thrust force. With the incorporated high strength custom blended fiber-fill nylon bases or heat-treated steel bases designed, they are able to withstand the most severe of durability tests.
