The tissue seal (drying tube starter) provides a reliable starting material for tissue culture tubes. The tissue is sterilized by autoclaving and, after sterilization by an autoclave, the drying tube starter is ready to use. The tissue is thoroughly dried after placing in the oven and, after sterilization, a homogenizing agent is added to insure that all bacteria are destroyed. After the tube has been cultured, the tissue is stained by a color indicator dye to determine the absorbency of the medium. When the tube is ready to be used, the drying tube starter is cut and the shrink tubing shrink tube starter is cut and sterilized. There is an applicator needle device for use with sterilization tubes; the tray is dried and the shrink tube starter is cut away. This finishing procedure leaves the sterilization tubes practically undamaged.
