This rail is a top notch rail, you can pay more but not sure you'll get more, it was checked with a precision straight edge before and after mounting, although I did bed the rear of the rail to maintain a true flat rail. Great product.

Midwest Industries now offers Remington 700 Lightweight (Short Action) MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny Rails, which mount directly to the firearm's flattop receiver. Remington 700 Short Action MIL-STD 1913 rails allow for the use of lights and/or lasers to be mounted to the rail, which is perfect for a tactical shooter. These rails feature a rear "push-button" style rail, which avoids any movement or wobble and is perfect for mounting scopes. The Midwest Industries MIL-STD 1913 rail is compatible with Remington 700 Lightweight (Short Action) actions, but will require modification of the gunsmithing process to install.
