It eliminates the need for oil or other lubricants that can fall from the stage onto your hands. The smooth aluminum stage plate has two smooth surfaces for easier mounting and a single smooth frosted surface. Frosted plate SG06.0804 is also easy to clean, using the same solvent that leaches into the microscope through the objective.
