This item is just the timer or iclude the feeder mechanism itself as well?

This mechanism includes the timer and feeder mechanism. You do have to supply the bucket but it will work with any size drum or five gallon bucket. you can hang the feeder from a tree limb or make a tripod. Works good, easy to set up, and prevents waste. Have used feeders for years, Best for the money. Great that it works on AA batteries because they are cheaper than 6 volts and last a good while.
