The Museum Replicas German WWII K-98 Bayonet Knife features a museum quality reproduction of a Nazi era bayonet. The bayonet, or "flaying steel", had a sharp edge and was used in place of the traditional bayonet due to it's greater effectiveness at penetrating armor and flesh. The bayonet was attached to the soldier's rifle with a strap and used as a weapon in case of extreme emergency as it was very effective at bayonnetting. This bayonet was tapered at the end so that it could be unscrewed from the shaft. The bayonet was tapered at the end so that the user could easily bayonet the scabbard or hankie and use the bayonet as a blade extension if a larger weapon was needed. This Museum Replicas bayonet has a modern day synthetic handle which is a reproduction of the original handle that was used on the original production model. The Museum Replicas German WWII K98 Bayonet Knife is one of the finest examples of a more than likely rare find - an original surviving WWII bayonet as found in private collections worldwide.![]()
