Fluorinated high-density polyethylene (FHD) carboys and bottles feature excellent chemical resistance and selectivity, resistance to most acids and bases, and resistance to many organic solvents and organic solvent vapors. Many organic solvents, even those with a high vapor pressure, will flow through these carboys and bottles. To extend the service life of these carboys and bottles, periodically purge with argon gas while the solution is still in the bottle to quench the acid, then let the solution stand undisturbed for a specified period of time. After the process, simply wipe the product with a dry towel.
