There are four types of closures : Disposable, Barrier, Large, PP Closure, Buffered Lid, and Clear Low Profile (LMP) Closure. The Disposable, Barrier, and Large closures are designed for the most general-purpose isolation procedures. The large closures are excellent for isolations in an isostatic (evaporating) medium or a reducing medium with a relatively low viscosity. The closure with the larger opening also has a radial reinforcing rib to help prevent premature separation of the cover and the shrinkage that typically occurs with tapered closures. The inert barrier closures are excellent for barrier liquids and gels in an isostatic (evaporating) medium or with a relatively low viscosity; however, they do not block as much surface area as the barrier closures. Also, the seals provide a significant level of chemical and radiation protection. The small size of the closures makes it excellent for use in diagnostic procedures where sample containment is an issue. The closures are easily opened with a twist and lock motion, which also allows for multiple openings. The poppet valve design provides easy access to the closures and allows the lab gloves to be worn. Also, the flat bottoms allow the lab gloves to be worn without dulling the surface finish. To use the clamps, simply press the closure onto the sample, then fold the top lip over the sensor, and gently blow to release the gas. The clamps are easily disengaged with the hook and loop closures. The neck vent provides relief to prevent frozen samples.
