These Nunclon* tapers are manufactured with a unique four-sided trapping design that absorbs and rapidly spreads thermal energy efficiently. That is why they are used in top and trapping applications in the life sciences, including molecular biology, biochemistry, and fermentation and digestion labs. The Nalgen Nunclon steeply slopes the walls of the box to retain the heat within the sample and prevent it from contacting ambient humidity and contamination. The smooth, easy-to-clean surface also reduces the loss of sensitive analytes such as bacterial cultures, which may grow within the tubing of the cooling jacket. The unique trapping design absorbs and evenly distributes cooling energy within the sample container. Caps have large clear windows that display the temperature within the chamber and can be used to capture expelled bubbles. The double-sided tape also functions as a double-sided traffic light for cooling water-cooled samples. The material of the spout prevents contamination of the sample within the lab and contamination of samples. Suitable for cooling small or medium-volume applications, including aseptic processing, DNA and protein gels. Suitable for use within the Laboratory Top Cooler and/or the specialized Cooler Dome.
