These bottles provide two methods of assaying. The first method is a comparative dilution test, which quantitatively determines the volume of an unknown compound in a fixed volume of water. The second method is an adsorption test, which quantitatively determines the volume of an unknown compound bound to a specific volume of water. This study was designed to determine the adsorption titer of an unknown solution to a fixed volume of water. The third method compares the adsorption titer of a viscometric solution to a liquid sample. The materials in a fixed volume are weighed and the weight is determined by the standard deviation of the retention curve for that specific viscosity of the solution. Both methods are right-to-know safe for the user to use in their work because the information is clearly etched on the bottles.
