Unc astatic extracellular polyethylene (EPS) tanks are used for holding powders, buffers, lyophilized liquids, precipitates, and precipitates containing yeast, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Cylindrical tanks are also used for receiving cultures, maintaining animal systems, storing fermentation buffers and buffer solutions. Cylindrical tanks also serve as catch-all containers for spent fermentation products. The EPS (polyethylene) can be easily removed to allow access to the fermenting material. The patented, dual-cell design of the patented X-shaped in-tank culture system provides a large working volume and good chemical stewardship. A re-sealable bladder allows for periodic mixing of the batch without contaminating the product. The dimple on the inner surface of the outer surface traps and locks out leaking product. The complete chemical system is hermetically sealed and leak tested.
