Whirl-PakTM sample bags provide an alternative to fragile, time-consuming and labor-intensive fleece or paper bags used for collecting, storing, and transporting environmental and other samples. These bags protect and stabilize air and moisture sensitive environmental and laboratory samples. Applications include the collection of air/water and environmental samples. These Whirl-Pak bags are transparent or slightly translucent and are made of polyethylene. The bags combine a strong, reliable welded seam with a unique flat seal to provide reliable results. Laminated bag/label strips are perforated on both sides and accept most popular zipper closures. These offer reliable performance in field conditions. Disposal is simple with easy-to-use corner spouts. The pre-opened bag remains viable for several days; when soiled or wet the bag can be transferred to another container and resealed. To retain the contents, simply resealable. For best results, place the bag/sampler in a circulating water bath. After incubation, simply seal the bag/sampler and let it stand until completely open. Then reseal the bag/sampler in a cold trap to dry. To release the sample, simply heat the bag in a circulating oven set over a gas burner. Bag/sampler should be removed from the source material immediately after use or the sample bag/sampler has been placed in boiling water. Bags/samplers should be immediately stowed after use.
