The Thermo ScientificTM NovecTM brand of standard opening glass vials features a crimp-top design. The standard size is used for most procedures involving liquids, powders, or viscous liquids. Very often, the opening of a vial can be too tight or too loose to allow an accurate liquid level reading. The NovecTM brand offers a slightly wider mouth in order to admit more liquid. These vials also have slightly longer necks, but these are not threaded and therefore can be autoclaved. The wide mouth design allows a large volume of liquid to flow through the neck, making sampling from the neck easier. The NovecTM brand is characterized by a uniform wall thickness, eliminating the need for neck trimmers. The one-piece glass standard size vials have a color-coded identification patch affixed with Vials. The NovecTM single-walled vacuum-formed, single-use vials are ideal for storing liquids, powders, and viscometers.
