For building a .45 ACP AR platform with a bottleneck you need a carrier that will accommodate a longer charging handle and will allow the use of a longer stronger bolt. We accomplish this by allowing the bolt carrier to float free of the barrel, which makes it a requirement for longer .45 ACP mag lengths. The .45 ACP bolt carrier will work in a .45 ACP bottleneck AR platform with a longer charging handle. You must also be able to use a .45 ACP cartridge in a standard AR platform.image
