In 2020, Nosler upgraded the popular .270 caliber using 21st century materials and ballistics with the introduction of .27 Nosler ammo. With the cartridge, the Oregon-based company combines 150 grain AccuBond bullets with Trophy Grade quality. Compared to its predecessor, the .27 Nosler has a flatter trajectory, higher energy retention, and reduced wind draft. The overall result is improved performance for long range shooting.
Trophy Grade ammo is a line of Nosler's premier Rifle Ammo in that the company under the moniker meticulously weighs powders, measures tolerances, and visually inspects the final product for quality control. On top of that, Nosler goes to great links to test the performance of the .27 Nosler 150 gr AccuBond bullets. These include Doppler testing in which performance results are confirmed and verified.
While the .27 caliber cartridge was built in the spirit of .270 Winchester and .270 WSM, .27 Nosler brass is a cross between the 404 Jeffrey Small case, an African big game round, and the .30 Nosler.
