The resistivity of materials and surfaces is measured with the optical properties developed using the MEMS Ion exchange process. This resistivity is much higher than that of single materials and surfaces which experience high particle loads or have a poor thermal (surface) finish. The resulting data presents a clear picture of the underlying process which gives the resistivity values. A sensor with an optical window into the process which gives the measurement visibility from the outside in. A flat tip sensor with a long cable which allows the measurement to be taken through the tip with no dripping or smoke. A flat tip sensor which gives a measurement without any dripping or smoke. A temperature knurled knob which allows the sensor location to be changed without having to remove the probe from the process. An optional reed switch which can be added to the probe tip.
