Filtered by Pall Acrodisc technology (trademark of Pall Instruments GmbH, Germany) from a spherical bottom dish allowing all ions to migrate to the bottom of the syringe. After a one or two minute dwell time, the retained solute is washed away with a mild eluent that retains color. The retained solute is then ion exchanged with resin impregnated in organic peroxides, providing reproducible reproducibility of the injected solute concentration. The retained solute is retained by a special retention effect so it is not filtered out but that an excess solute migrates to the top of the dye. The color developed in the detection system (e.g., CsCl, Selib) indicates the solute migration direction.
