The Paul Chen Practical Rapier Blade Sword w/ Sheath is an excellent functional rapier that is well suited to cutting as well as thrusting. The Paul Chen Practical Rapier Blade Sword features a blade/tang joint that is reinforced by a high tensile steel rod running through a triangular section of the blade. This gives the sword excellent rigidity, flex, and shock absorption characteristics for use in a variety of cutting or slashing actions. The finely distal tapered cross section of the blade is also supportive, to assist the hand in controlling the sword, and aids in achieving the correct laceration angle. The guards, sori, and the parrying stops are also well designed and executed. Each half-section of the sword is double-pegged to aid in handling under varying conditions. The fittings on the Paul Chen Practical Rapier Blade Sword are also separately disassembled, to aid in the cleaning process.
