For a long time photo instructors in high schools and colleges across the United States have been telling their students that they must own a manually controlled single lens reflex as a prerequisite to taking the class, and they had to have Pentax K1000 camera. Pentax discontinued the K-1000 in 1997, but our Pentax ZX-M Manual Focus 35mm camera replaced K1000, but added such modern features as motorized wind and rewind, self-timer, and electronic release.
