ProMag AR-308 .308 50 Round Rifle Magazine Up to 15% Off w/ Free S&H — 2 models
It is not recommended due to significant reliability issues.
Why It Causes Problems in a Drum Magazine
Different Shoulder and Neck Profiles: 6.5 Creedmoor has a steeper shoulder angle (30 degrees) and a different case taper compared to .308 Winchester. In high-capacity drum systems, rounds nest against one another radially. The variance in shoulder profile causes the stack geometry to bind or misalign inside the drum wheel.
Nose-Diving & Feed Failures: Because the follower and feed ramps in .308 drums are tuned for the larger .30-caliber bullet profile, lighter or longer 6.5mm projectile tips frequently dip low during feeding, causing failure-to-feed (FTF) jams against the barrel extension.
Internal Wheel Dynamics: Drum magazines rely on precise cartridge contact points to rotate through the internal spiral. Minor differences in cartridge geometry exacerbate friction, which can cause the drum's spring mechanism to lock up mid-capacity.
Certain firearm magazines and extensions are subject to maximum capacity restrictions based on state and local laws. Currently, we are unable to sell these products to some locations. For a complete list of these restrictions, please visit our policy page.
By continuing with your purchase, you agree to adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
