Product Category Description:

Black phenolic caps have a thin ring of phenolic material around the outside of a pre-formed sealing rim. This type of cap has a very high initial rebreatin value and a very low surface energy, which translates to a strong, chemical-resistant and re-sealable cap. A grease-activated activation process converts the phenolic content of the cap to a gasket, which gives the sealing performance of a tamper-evident seal. The non-woven material of the cap ring prevents adhesive from forming a seal with the surrounding environment. The special low-energy ring inside the cap allows for excellent gasket performance. After sealing, the cap can be screwed or corded onto a container of the same type without any danger of the seal slipping or deformation.
