The jars provide excellent chemical resistance to aliphatic alcohols, aldehydes, alkalis, and acids. The jar base and lid are rounded at corners to provide good chemical resistance to corrosives. These jars represent the standard for general-use jars sold with chemical resistant closures. Polystyrene jars with polypropylene screw closures are hygienic and will withstand most autoclaving processes. Large jars are ideal for the storage of liquids at ambient temperature.
