How is this one different from the vg6 gamma? I installed the vg6 on my Remington 700. Did I choose the wrong one? — 3 Answers

The gamma is a 3 chamber brake and this one has 4 chambers. The lambda also installs with a jam nut for easier installation whereas the gamma uses a crush washer. Both brakes perform well, although I would say this one is slightly better performance wise and much easier to install.

It's just a different design. The gamma is fine and should well enough for your 700. I have one on a Grendel. This one is more advanced with the two piece self tightening jam nut design and may be a little better at recoil mitigation.

Perfect is the enemy of good enough. If the vg6 reduces recoil and muzzle rise sufficiently to meet your needs, then you have the right brake on your rifle. Don't spend any time and worry second guessing yourself. If it does not meet your needs, learn your lesson and buy something different next time.
