The length of QD picatinny rail would depend on if you want to mount both to the same piece of rail as well as what red dot you are using. If you are mounting both the magnifier and red dot to a section of QD picatinny rail on an AR receiver you could get two of the same length pieces of QD picatinny rail and mount the optics separately. as long as your rifle already has a picatinny rail, this would allow you to mount items to the rail that you want to remove without tools. If your rifle does not have a picatinny rail in place already, this will not work as it is designed to mount on a pic rail but adds the quick release functionality.
