Will this tolerate the recoil from 300 grain 458 socom rounds? The manuals indicates the recoil resistance is “700g” whatever the heck that means.

Answering my own question. I spoke with FLIR and they said the predator tops out with .300 Remington Ultra Mag recoil. So it isn’t technically rated for 458 socom, but the loading of 458 socom I use has less recoil energy than standard 300 RUM loads.

It will work in daylight however it will still be in thermal mode.

For the Armasight Predator 640 what, exactly, does “Environmental Rating Water and Fog-Resistant” mean?

According to the Armasight Specifications Sheet, this unit is able to function in weather conditions up to a light rain and the lenses are treated to prevent fogging up.
