All of the Armaspec buffer systems are designed to work inside a mil-spec buffer tube. If runnning an A5 or Rifle length it would require a spacer that can be found on the site.

It will fit carbine or rifle length tubes, it is carbine length but a delrin plastic spacer is placed in the rifle length tube followed by the silent system. I've had my JP Buffer over 7 years now but mine came with the plastic spacer. I would assume the new ones do as well but it would be worth calling JP to make sure. Hope this helps,Josh S.
