Will this work for the new Midas TAC 50mm?

Unfortunately, no - for a 50mm objective, Athlon lists accessory sunshades only for the Ares BTR, Midas BTR, Helios BTR and Argos BTR.

The Athlon Optics Midas BTR 50mm Rifle Scope Sunshades are designed for the Athlon Optics scopes listed. Fitment with the Burris Fullfield cannot be guaranteed.

Yes, this fits the Midas TAC 50mm, Ares BTR 50mm, Helos BTR GEN2 50mm, and Midas BTR 50mm.

I received a sunshade for a midas btr 50mm scope. too small. Is there a difference between midas btr 50mm and midas btr gen2

We have a few 50mm sunshades, which are not interchangeable. The Midas BTR and Midas BTR GEN2 share the same sunshade. I suspect you received a 50mm sunshade for another model.
