The scope is rechargeable, and infact does last 18+ hours.

Yes. It comes with an included Lithium Ion rechargeable battery that is rated at 18+hours of life by the factory. This is probably more like 10-12 hours in real life applications outside of the testing environment. It also has a connector where you can hook up an external battery pack to charge it, and ATN even sells a stock mounted battery pack kit that is similar to the types people use for their cell phones, only much larger in capacity. It includes a stock pouch for storage and transport of the larger battery, although you can use any portable cell phone charger pack if I am seeing the connector correctly in the images I have viewed. From the best of my understanding, battery packs sizes are described by a "MaH" number that tells how much energy they can hold. The larger the number, the more energy the battery can store, and the longer it can be used to recharge your scope, phone, etc.
